Actors Guild Board Member Shelley Blade said Saturday night that Parkersburg-Lip Sync Battle 2024 raised about $10,000 for both national and local charities.
Margaret Hochar, a court-appointed special public defender, was the Voice for Children Foundation’s first choice nominee. Artisan Cosmetology, comprised of Liz Zimmerman, Tara Haqq, Nevaeh Hutson, Leslie Craft, Heather Wilson, Alyssa Farnsworth, Stormy Wigal, and Jaylin Florency, took second place and was inspired by Dolly Parton’s Imagination -Benefits the library. Pam Creel, Kelly Kuhn, Toni Holbrook, Jennifer Morrison and Sandy Hintz of Wine Down on Market placed third, benefiting the Wood County Association.
“It was a successful night not only for the Actors Guild, but also for the nine nonprofit organizations selected.” Blade said.
Winners were chosen based on a formula of 25% pre-contest online voting, 50% live judges total, and 25% live voting during the event.
