I arrived on Lesbos. even more abnormaltourism was not on my mind. However, the island is perfectly suited for tourism and is not the over-the-top resort of Mykonos. It’s the perfect place to get a taste of authentic Greek life, with delicious food, friendly locals, and beautiful beaches.
my life was based on beautiful things Port town Myterine One of the many things I learned from my experience here is that what this little paradise needs is more tourism. Many people have never heard of this island, and even for those who have, many are new to it because the refugee crisis has become synonymous with the island. But this is no reason Avoid Lesbos –Actually quite the opposite.
This island is truly a European paradise, and the kindness and hospitality of its people shows just how special this hidden gem is. Please come and explore this magical island. Enjoy a drink in the perfect mauve sunset and sip an ouzo at one of the many tavernas. Come here and enjoy Greece without the scary prices and nightclub life of the famous party islands! In my opinion, Lesvos is my favorite island in Greece. There are three reasons for this.
1. Historical writers and poets
Lesbos is famous as the hometown of the poet Sapphos, who has a permanent residence (in the form of a statue) named after her in Piazza Sappho, in the center of Mytellini.
2. Picturesque small villages and rich nature
As the third largest island in Greece, there is a lot of beauty to explore. The island is home to many charming small fishing villages such as Panagowda, several castles to explore, a petrified forest, and a vast coastline with beautiful beaches. .
3. Food, Tavernas and Ouzo
Lesbos is known to most Greeks as the place to find the best ouzo, specifically the town of Plomari on the south coast of the island.
