Arizona’s frozen food aisles are cooler than ever

As summer rolls around, the popular iced tea and juice brand is entering a new category — and it’s probably going to surprise some people.

Arizona Ice Pops are currently available in three flavors based on the company’s three most popular juice flavors: Mucho Mango, Fruit Punch and Watermelon. Each bar contains 50 calories and contains no artificial flavors or sweeteners, according to the brand.

“From hot summer days to something sweet any time of the year, Arizona Juice offers delightful refreshment to people across America,” Arizona CMO Spencer Vultaggio said in a press release. “The frozen food aisle is a natural next step for our flavor-driven brand, and we can’t wait to hear what you think.”

The popsicles will be sold for a limited time at select retailers nationwide, competing with existing brands such as Popsicle and Outshine.

Best known for its tall iced tea cans, Arizona has also shown interest in expanding its product portfolio into new categories. In 2021, it partnered with Heineken to launch a hard seltzer, Introduces the Hard Tee product line The company launched its Saint-Breux coffee series last summer. The company also entered powdered coffee in 2021 with its Saint-Breux product line.

KitKat has a refreshing pink lemonade flavor

A Pink Lemonade-flavored version of KitKat is giving consumers a new way to beat the heat this summer.

Hershey’s said the limited-edition product, which includes crispy wafers filled with Pink Lemonade-flavored creme, offers a refreshing taste experience with an unexpected hint of strawberry flavor. The Pennsylvania company said the new flavor caters to Gen Z and millennials, as more than 93% of them say they enjoy pink lemonade treats.

“Creating new and unexpected taste experiences for Kit Kat® fans is at the heart of what we do,” said Hilary Long, Kit Kat brand leader, Hershey’s. It said in a statement“As the summer heats up, the KitKat Pink Lemonade flavoured bar delivers an immersive experience with every bite, evoking the taste of refreshing pink lemonade.”

KitKat Pink Lemonade joins other products the brand has previously launched, including Chocolate Frosty Donut, Churro, Birthday Cake and Blueberry Muffin.

Hershey said the limited-edition Kit Kat flavors complement its staple milk chocolate assortment and play an important role in helping the Pennsylvania-based company “continue to grow interest in the Kit Kat brand.”

The company said the flavors are created using consumer insights, key trends and best-selling flavors, which helps KitKat decide whether to create limited edition, seasonal or permanent flavors.

Iron Chef competes in frozen breakfast category

A celebrity chef is hoping to win over consumers with a new egg-based product.

Iron Chef Ming Tsai Founds MingBings After his wife had a health scare in 2017, his family switched to a plant-based, gluten-free diet in hopes of reducing inflammation.

Tsai, a chef, was frustrated with the healthy convenience foods available at grocery stores and decided to create his own.

Now, Tsai is expanding his company’s product line with handheld frozen breakfast meals that can be found in the frozen food aisles of Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Giant, Whole Foods and Sprouts Farmers Market.

Currently, the bin has three varieties: Sausage Egg and Cheese, Vegetable Egg and Cheese, and the Denver Omelette, which comes with ham, eggs, vegetables and cheddar cheese.

Bing is traditional A Chinese flatbread that originated during China’s Ming dynasty, Tsai has “Americanized” the dish by combining a variety of flavors in a dough encased in crispy brown rice.

Tsai said that while the new breakfast options aren’t plant-based, they still fall into the healthier category.

The sausage, egg and cheese has 40% less calories and sodium than the leading handheld frozen breakfast sandwich, and the Denver Omelette Bing has less than 50% of the calories and sodium than the leading handheld breakfast sandwich.

The brown rice paper is also gluten-free and ready in 10 to 12 minutes.

Tsai appeared on Iron Chef in 2014 and has since opened several James Beard Award-winning restaurants, with all of his culinary concepts focusing on East-meets-West fusion cuisine.
