Kevin Costner, 69, spoke about Jewel, 50, after the pair sparked romance rumors at a charity event in December.
During the period interview “Jewel and I are friends,” Costner said on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show,” though he emphasized that they have “never dated.”
He added: “She’s a special person and I wouldn’t want these rumours to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have.”

Costner and the singer were spotted looking cozy during the event at Richard Branson’s private island in the British Virgin Islands.
“I was on a plane with nine people, and Jewel was one of them,” he told Stern, recalling that she was “someone I had a great conversation with.”
Jewel in April Said “He’s a great guy,” Elle said, adding that the romance rumors “are definitely a source of public interest.”
The speculation began after Jewel and Kevin were spotted hanging out together at a tennis event in the Caribbean. A source told TMZ at the time, “Something was definitely going on. They were flirting and they both looked radiant when they were together.”
