We’ve tried a variety of language learning apps over the years to make our travels easier, and they range from good to poor to mediocre.
In this review, we check out Promova, a new language app.
Is it the ultimate ticket to fluency or just a stop on your language learning journey? Let’s find out.
Promoba review: Is it worth it?
Before we get into the pros and cons, let’s take a quick look at how Promova works.
Please download the app google play or app store.
With over 1 million downloads, the app is off to a very good start with a 4.6/5 rating on Google Play.
Pro tip: You can learn on the Promova website if you like, but I especially liked the ease of using the app on my smartphone.
First impression
Promova’s interface is clean and intuitive, a departure from the cluttered designs you often see.
Moving between sections is smooth, making it easy for both beginners and tech-savvy users.
The languages you can learn with Promova are:
- English
- Spanish
- Arabic
- Chinese
- French
- German
- Italian
- Korean
- Ukrainian
You can learn a language with the guidance of several language options. When learning Spanish, you were offered a choice of English, Arabic, French, or German as your core language.
How does the Promova app work?
When you first launch Promova, it provides an initial assessment to assess your level in terms of language proficiency and interest. This feels good. It takes him less than a minute to run.
The app also asks you how much time you want to spend using the app each day.
From there, Promova will curate a learning plan that combines vocabulary, grammar, and real-life examples. Lessons are bite-sized and gradually increase in difficulty. The audio feature helps you understand pronunciation correctly, but it doesn’t always accurately identify mistakes.
You can also continue using the app without signing in, which is convenient. You can also create an account with Google or your email address. To properly save and track your progress, you must create an account.
Course structure
What is unique about Promoba is its course structure.
Unlike the typical language learning app Promova jumps right into common phrases and builds them from scratch. First individual words, then sentences, and finally conversations. Natural progression is more like leveling up in a video game than a chore.
I decided to learn Spanish with an app. Promoba’s first lesson was simple and nice, basic vocabulary followed by a quick practice session.
They then practiced matching the English words with their Spanish equivalents, followed by typing the missing letters in the Spanish words.
There is continuous feedback along the way, with cute characters providing positive and encouraging feedback. The first time I took the lesson was around Halloween, so the characters were also Halloween themed.
grammar and syntax
Promova takes a different approach by seamlessly integrating grammar rules into lessons.
This is a breath of fresh air for those who find standalone grammar modules boring. By learning the “why” as well as the “what,” you will gain a comprehensive understanding of language.
personalization
The personalization feature caught our eye. The app adjusts difficulty and content based on your progress and areas of interest. For example, if you’re interested in food, expect lessons built around cooking themes. This is innovative for some and makes the learning experience engaging and relevant.
It was obvious right away that I was a foodie because all my first lessons focused on food – “What’s in a salad?”, “What’s for dinner?” Eat like a king.”
I really liked being able to do a little jump around the course. It was very interesting for me because I didn’t have to take the following lessons in exact order.
Even better, you can change your learning level on the fly by accessing beginner, intermediate, or advanced lessons.
real world applications
Promova has a “Street Smart” section with modules that prepare you for real-world interactions.
Ask for directions or order coffee. These modules have you covered. It also provides cultural tips for overcoming social norms. This is an often overlooked but very useful feature.
Audio and pronunciation
Audio quality is crisp and Promoba app You can switch between speeds, making it easier to understand and pronounce.
Personally, I’ve found the English and Spanish speech recognition software to be accurate and able to highlight and correct errors in real time.
Are the ads annoying in the free version?
The free version occasionally displays ads, but I’ve never found them annoying or bothersome.
An ad popped up when I tried to access a new lesson later in the course.
English teacher
In addition to being a typical standalone language learning app, Promova also provides instruction from a language learning app. English teacher.
Learn with more affordable group lessons or private lessons. Group lessons will be held on Google Meet.
Group classes cannot be canceled or refunded. However, group class schedules can be changed up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
Private lessons are created based on individual interests, so that’s a plus. They boast that their technology improves learning, but measuring its effectiveness is difficult. While it’s a viable option for those looking for a flexible schedule to improve their English skills, it may not offer a remarkable learning journey.
With a one-on-one English tutor, you can study over three lesson periods:
- 25 minutes
- 50 minutes
- 90 minutes
I really like the idea of short 25-minute classes because I find long classes with live instructors a little overwhelming.
Free English conversation club
One perk that I found helpful was the “Free English Conversation Club,” which is held once a week for 60 minutes on Zoom. This is a free online meeting for small groups of learners using Zoom.
Pricing – Is Promova free or paid?
Promova offers a free version, but requires a subscription to unlock all features.
The free version also shows occasional ads, but I personally never found them overly annoying or annoying.
With the free plan, you can only learn one language at a time.
The price is reasonable compared to other premium language apps. We also offer a 14-day money-back guarantee, so you can test the waters without committing too much.

Disadvantage
The app currently supports only a limited number of languages. If you want to learn a less common language, this app may not be for you. There were also occasional glitches like the app freezing or audio not syncing, but these were rare.

Promova offers a holistic, personalized and practical approach to language learning. It skillfully combines elements of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural understanding. It’s not just learning to speak. It’s about learning to communicate.
Promova seems to be on the right track. Its intuitive design, real-world applicability, and advancement-focused features make it a strong contender in the crowded market of language apps. Although there is room for improvement, it gets the essentials right and provides a valuable tool for anyone looking to learn a new language.
