Mike Evans had a historic day against the Panthers on Sunday. He had 10 consecutive seasons with over 1,000 yards. Evans played a vital role in the Bucs’ 21-18 victory with seven receptions for 162 yards and one touchdown. It was his performance that led Tampa Bay to victory, and after the game, both he and the team reacted to his big game and milestone.
Mike Evans: ‘I have a real problem to deal with’
Mike Evans is 30 years old and shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, Evans looks as good as ever with the ball in his hands. After his recent dominant performance at Raymond James Stadium, he was asked if he’s as good as ever.

“Yes,” Evans said. “It was several years. – 2018, 2019 – [where] It was really great, but this year…I’m getting smarter every year. My game slows down over the years, but if I’m healthy that’s a big issue to deal with. I am blessed with good health and have just learned how to take care of my body as I get older. ”
There is little question at this point that Mike Evans is a Hall of Famer. This match was an example of why. Now in his 10th season, he’s still a game-changing playmaker. He has played for several head coaches and different quarterbacks and in a variety of systems over the past 10 years. No matter what, Evans was a perfect fit.
Every time he hangs it, a bust of Canton, Ohio will be waiting. He knows what he’s capable of, but ultimately it’s not up to him.
“That’s not for me to decide,” Evans said. “I know I’m a Hall of Fame-level player. I’ve seen all the players that have played, I’ve seen all the players that are in the Hall of Fame. What can I do? I know that, but my career is not over yet. That’s something to think about in the future.”
Baker Mayfield and Todd Bowles react to Mike Evans’ milestone
The Bucks are currently 5-7 and focused on the present. They make some living in the NFC South. That’s largely due to the efforts of Mike Evans. A 75-yard touchdown in the third quarter helped the Bucs regain the lead and was a key play that gave the team momentum. – and the long-awaited victory.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield gave his opinion on his star wide receiver’s abilities.

“He’s obviously a special player,” Mayfield said. “Hats off to him. He’s been doing it consistently for a long time. That play is an example of how special he is. The run after the catch, the way he’s supposed to be on that route. The ability to get exactly to the spot and then obviously make a big play. Very happy for him, but we needed that, we needed a little bit of brilliance. He gave us that. He brought it to us, and there was no one better than him.”
Mayfield also reacted to Mike Evans reaching 1,000 yards and said he was glad he wasn’t able to help end the streak.
Mayfield added, “Just congratulations” on Evans’ hitting milestone.What I want to say is – There are really no words to describe what he did in his career to achieve that [ten] consecutive seasons. To be honest, I’m very happy that I didn’t break that streak, but I’m even more happy for Mike. amazing. He’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer and no one can take that away from him. ”
The Bucs seem to believe Mike Evans will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer alongside offensive coordinator Dave Canales. shared similar sentiments last week. After Sunday’s game, head coach Todd Bowles cited Evans’ consistency and long-standing reputation as a playmaker.
“I don’t know what else to say. He’s been like this for 10 years,” Bowles said. “Ten years in a row with over 60 catches, 10 years in a row with over 1,000 yards. He’s got the ball and everyone’s trying to stop him and he’s making plays over and over again. That’s a credit to him. And his work ethic and the way he approaches the game. It’s unbelievable.”
Incredible is probably the best word to describe what Mike Evans continues to do on the field every Sunday.
