(MnDOT) – Drivers traveling on I-90 will experience a closure of the exit ramp onto southbound Hwy 52 southeast of Rochester through November.

Drivers traveling eastbound and westbound on I-90 will be able to exit onto Hwy 52 and continue north on Hwy 52.

I-90 eastbound and westbound drivers traveling south on Hwy 52 should use exit 218, travel north on Hwy 52 to 50th Avenue, then turn left onto Hwy 52 southbound.

Drivers on I-90 can also take Exit 224 near Eyota and travel south on Olmsted County Road 7 to access Route 52 north of Chatfield.

Highway 52 to be closed

Further traffic impacts are expected this summer. A culvert will be installed under Hwy 52 at the I-90 interchange and the area will be closed and detoured. Work is tentatively scheduled for August and will last for several days. A schedule will be communicated as it becomes available. Detour routes for the culvert work include:

• Motorists traveling north on Hwy 52 should travel north on Co. Rd. 7, exit at westbound I-90 and take the Hwy 52 exit to access northbound Hwy 52.

• If traveling south on Highway 52, take Highway 63 south to eastbound I-90 and take the Highway 52 exit to access southbound Highway 52.
