Huawei is set to release the tri-fold smartphone on September 10, just hours after Apple’s new iPhones are scheduled to go on sale.

BEIJING — Huawei has received more than 2.7 million pre-orders for its tri-fold smartphone. The company’s website said Monday.

The Chinese company opened pre-orders for the Mate XT from noon on Saturday. Apple The iPhone 16 is scheduled to go on sale early Tuesday morning Beijing time.

Huawei had previously announced that it would launch the new device at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The company has yet to reveal the price of the Mate XT. The device is scheduled to be officially released on September 20.

Apple fell out of the top five Chinese smartphone vendors in the second quarter. According to Canalys:According to the company, this is the first time that domestic companies have monopolized all five positions.

According to Canalys, Huawei shipped 10.6 million smartphones, putting it in fourth place in terms of market share.
