Here’s how you can get an Olive Garden meal with breadsticks and a drink for less than the cost of a McDonald’s burger combo.
In a trending TikTok video approaching 100,000 views, Olive Garden customer Lucy (@xoxoluciee) shared a trick that allows her to essentially get two pasta meals for just $6.99, which is less than the cost of a meal at most fast food restaurants. She also revealed that Olive Garden allows you to order spaghetti as a side dish to another pasta dish, getting two pasta meals for the price of one.
How to Eat a Full Course Meal at Olive Garden for $6.99
In the short video, Lucy explains that all she had to do was order something off the kids’ menu (she chose the fettuccine alfredo) and add spaghetti as a side.
It came with breadsticks as well as a drink.
“Plus it’s just the right amount to fill you up,” says Lucy.
In the comments section, one viewer fired back, saying you can buy a box of pasta and Alfredo sauce at Aldi for about $2.50, less than half the price at Olive Garden.
“LOL. I knew someone would comment that. And it’s true. But in my opinion, nothing tastes better than Olive Garden’s Alfredo sauce!! Personal preference,” Lucy replied.
Another person expressed concern that there might be problems if adults ordered from the kids’ menu at Olive Garden, but Lucy said she’s always just ordered in-store and never had an issue.
And one user shared their own hack.
“Yeah, but you pay an extra $5 for extra dipping sauce and get 8 extra breadsticks. You boil your own noodles and add the sauce later,” one commenter wrote.
Now, if you’re interested in this hack but aren’t sure if it will work for you, we’re here to help.
Does this Olive Garden hack work?
The Daily Dot reproduced Lucy’s order on Olive Garden’s website and confirmed that the hack occurred, with the total coming in at $13.99, a dollar more than Lucy paid, but not surprising considering they looked at New York stores.
If you don’t want to add pasta as a side to your main pasta dish, Olive Garden offers the option of broccoli, fries, or grapes. You can also add a protein like chicken or meatballs, but for an extra charge.
