To celebrate its 50th anniversary on May 19th, Hershey’s Chocolate World will open up an all-new cinematic experience that will excite all railroad and candy lovers. Hershey’s Great Candy Expedition is North America’s first fully immersive interactive experience that embraces all the senses, featuring Hershey’s Kisses, Reese’s, Jolly Rancher, Kit Kat®, Twizzlers, Almond Joy & The Mound.

Guests can interact with new characters through 270-degree 4K projection mapping and special effects such as Sweets Expedition Co. engineer Ginny.

The 30-minute adventure takes guests through three main areas, starting at Hershey’s Chocolate World station, inspired by the train Milton Hershey traveled to find candy-making ingredients. The train station transports guests to the golden age of travel with its Art Deco-inspired departure boards, clocks, vignettes, and retro-style posters depicting each Hersheyland along the journey.

Guests can experience period-specific sights, locomotive sounds, and lifelike experiential lighting as they head to Sweets Expedition Co. Platform 73 before setting foot on the Hersheyland Express. Once seated inside the theater, projection-mapped screens use special effects to transport guests to colorful stops. Scents such as berries, coconut, roasted peanuts and Hershey’s chocolate change throughout the candy world.
