India celebrated its 75th Republic Day today and its expatriates celebrated the day in their own way.

According to Gulf News, Indian expatriates in the UAE celebrated the 75th Republic Day with hoisting of the Indian flag, a large blood donation camp, songs and dances and other cultural programmes.

Republic Day commemorates the day the Indian Constitution came into force on January 26, 1950. Every year, Indians across the world celebrate this festival with flag-hoisting ceremonies, distribution of sweets, cultural programs, and more.

On Friday, January 26, 2024, the Indian Mission in the United Arab Emirates held official Republic Day celebrations. The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Indian Consulate General in Dubai reportedly invited members of the Indian expatriate community to the flag hoisting ceremony.

Indian Ambassador to the UAE Sunjay Sudhir hoists the Indian flag at the embassy. He also mentioned the jubilant Indian diaspora and called on “all to join India’s journey in Amritkara,” UAE India shared on X.

The grand celebrations of the 75th Republic Day of India began a few days ago with a blood donation camp in Dubai. More than 250 volunteers reportedly donated blood at the camp on Sunday. The event was held at the Dubai Health Authority Headquarters and was hosted by the Consulate General of India in Dubai in collaboration with FOI Events.

Message from UAE leaders

According to WAM, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a message of congratulations to Indian President Drupadi Murmu on the occasion of Republic Day.

Similar messages were received by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Presidential Court. was sent to the President of India.
