Donald Trump on Monday again denied rape and defamation allegations made by author E. Jean Carroll, drawing the attention of Carroll’s lawyers.

Manhattan Federal Court Judge Lewis Kaplan and Carroll’s argument: “In two separate cases, a woman I never met (and who I only briefly shook hands with at a celebrity event 25 years ago doesn’t count!) was awarded $91 million for defamation.”
Kaplan presided over the case last year in which a jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing Carroll at a Manhattan department store in the 1990s. Kaplan then won a civil defamation lawsuit in January finding that Trump defamed Carroll after she accused him of rape in 2019. Carroll won $83.3 million in damages, but Trump is appealing the decision.
Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, quickly responded to Trump’s post, saying, “We have said repeatedly since the last jury verdict in January that all options are on the table, and that remains true today – all options remain on the table.”
The Biden campaign also Reacting to Trump’s post “Trump posted a Memorial Day message but made no mention of fallen American soldiers, instead calling those who don’t support him ‘human scum,'” he wrote on X’s account.
Kaplan previously hinted at the possibility of a new defamation lawsuit following comments Trump made in an interview with CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”
“In most jurisdictions, the statute of limitations for defamation claims is one to three years,” Kaplan said in a statement after the interview aired. “As we said after the last jury verdict, we will continue to monitor any statements made by Donald Trump about our client, E. Jean Carroll.”
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Kaplan’s response.
