Donald Trump won’t be president of the United States for another month, at least not literally. But his recent victory in the budget battle shows that by all accounts he is already the country’s leader, and it’s not too early.

In just a few days, President Trump’s pressure on Congress led to a massive 1,500-page The bill has now become a slim 120-page bill. We provide large amounts of basic necessities, including disaster relief and assistance to farmers.

Ahead of President Trump’s intervention, government agencies are trying to make sure the shutdown doesn’t disrupt next month’s inauguration, much like House Speaker Mike Johnson is stuffing Democrats’ stockings with pork and goodies. I was watching.

Dodge leader Elon Musk sends ‘shock’ to Capitol Hill over huge spending bill

Johnson believes enough Republicans will sigh in favor of the continuing resolution he negotiated with Democrats, giving President Trump control of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and Republicans taking control of the Senate in January. I thought there was a certain logic behind allowing people to talk in their sleep.

However, something interesting happened during the passage of the bill. At President Trump’s behest, Musk and Ramaswamy began posting on X all the major flaws in the law, some of them strange.

Elon Musk, newly announced co-chair of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), arrives at the Capitol in Washington, DC on December 5, 2024. For example, the bill included continued funding for the State Department’s Global Engagement Center, which exists solely to facilitate conservative online censorship in the name of combating so-called misinformation. This is an organization that appears to be doing the right thing.

The bill also included voluntary pay increases for lawmakers and billions of dollars for pet projects nationwide.

Within hours of the flood of posts from the dynamic duo at DOGE, the American people woke up to what was in the bill and began to oppose it. Some Republicans have switched from supporting to opposing the bill, setting the stage for the soon-to-be commander-in-chief.

The loosened targets allowed President Trump to bite into the bill, even threatening lawmakers who voted for it with key challenges. Trump even suggested that Johnson’s speaking gig could be in jeopardy if he doesn’t keep pace.

That’s it. The Dong Dong bill was invalidated, and the American people dodged a bullet, or should we say “dodged it”? By Friday night, a cleaner, leaner bill had passed the House, averting a shutdown.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) is welcomed as he arrives to address a campaign event at the Lucas County Republican Party Headquarters on Saturday, October 26, 2024 in Holland, Ohio.

Who do you think played no role in getting all of this done? That’s right, Joe Biden. You remember him, he’s the President of the United States, or at least that’s what his business card says.

It would be easier to find Wally at the candy cane factory than to find Grandpa Joe’s fingerprints anywhere on this historic deal.

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich has some knowledge of how Congressional sausage is made, and here’s what he had to say about X.

“Reducing the Continuing Resolution from 1,547 pages to 118 pages is a huge victory for President Trump, demonstrating the importance of the election and the fact that while President Biden was out of office and passive, he was truly the de facto It shows he’s president. It’s a good start to real change in Washington!”

It’s been interesting to watch all week as people have tried to paint a picture of a budget mess with House members rebelling against Trump, a pressing issue between Trump and Musk, and Republicans in disarray. But when the dust settled, we had 1,400 pages of debunked BS without a peep from Biden.

Trump’s first term as president, while successful in many ways, was marred not only by the Democrats’ constant and absurd scrutiny of nothing, but also, to be fair, by Trump’s own little It was also marred by naivety.

Trump was new to Washington and its dark machinations in 2017, but not now. Today, like a seasoned veteran, he is not only ready to lead the country, but, let’s be honest, already doing it.

Don’t get me wrong, this fight was dangerous. A government shutdown could dampen the optimism that prevailed across America after the election. But with risk comes reward, and now that we have slain the dragon of out-of-control spending, that optimism has only grown stronger.

That’s what leaders do, take risks, show up and account for the betterment of lives. We haven’t had that kind of leadership for the last four years.

Since January 20, 2021, no one has been clear about who is actually running this country. Well, that’s about to change. On January 20th of next year, without a doubt, this country will be led squarely by Donald J. Trump. That is, if you haven’t already.
