Further investigation revealed that Williams obtained a power of attorney for the victim in November 2020. Officials say this coincides with the start of financial exploitation.
Another family became suspicious of exploitation when they were approached by Williams to sign a mortgage loan that could be taken at the victim’s residence. The family refused to sign the loan agreement.
An investigation found that Williams had access to a total of seven bank and credit card accounts since November 2020, checks were printed and credit cards were requested with his credentials. Obtained bank and credit card statements from several accounts show that Williams completed 333 credit card purchases, 39 bank account transactions, and 33 wireless transfers, indicating that the victim all for a total of $61,900.06, except for $3,183.75 in privately hired medical expenses.
On November 18, 2022, an arrest warrant was issued against Williams and charged with information theft, seven counts of identity theft, 372 counts of access device fraud and 33 counts of illegal transmission of money. I was.
On January 31, 2023, Williams appeared at St. Landry Parish Prison and was charged with the charges listed in his arrest warrant.
