What’s even more exciting than a year’s membership to the Jelly of the Month Club is that comedian and actor Chevy Chase will be coming to the David A. Straz Jr. Performing Arts Center on Dec. 1.

Tickets go on sale Friday.

Chase will share anecdotes about the 1989 film “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” which will be screened after the conversation. The film is one of the popular “Vacation” films, in which Chase plays family patriarch Clark Griswold. His antics in “Christmas Vacation” include slapstick battles over lights and decorations, the unexpected appearance of Cousin Eddie and his buddies, and a bitter disappointment regarding a company bonus.

He’ll also be answering questions from the audience, so let’s dive in and think about it now.

Chase debuted as part of the original cast of “Saturday Night Live” in 1975, and his Weekend Update features became staples on the show that continue to this day. He later went on to star in the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” film series.

Chase’s lengthy filmography also includes starring roles in the comedy thrillers Fletch and Fletch Lives, and he also starred in the TV sitcom Community from 2009 to 2015.
