Celine Dion would not tolerate unauthorized use of her music!
Dion responded firmly yet humorously to reports that Donald Trump’s campaign used footage of her singing “My Heart Will Go On” at a rally in Montana on Friday, posting a stern cease and desist order. Instagram.
“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., were made aware of the unauthorized use of a video, recording, musical performance and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at the Donald Trump/J.D. Vance campaign rally in Montana,” the statement said.
“Such use is not authorized in any manner whatsoever, and Celine Dion does not endorse such or any similar use.”
As a final blow, the post ends with “…really, that song?”, a reference to the song being featured in the film Titanic, about a shipwreck – hardly a welcome campaign touch.
Dion, who recently won singing awards at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, is reportedly “determined to perform again” despite continuing to battle “stiff person syndrome”, which has severely affected her movement and singing ability.

got it! The magazine quoted an anonymous source as saying, “Celine is overjoyed with how things worked out in Paris. It’s the ultimate comeback and something she’s worked so hard for. She always believed she would be able to return to the stage but almost everyone around her, including her doctors, said it was almost impossible, so this is an incredibly emotional and huge victory for her.”
Dion wowed audiences at the Eiffel Tower on July 26 by singing Edith Piaf’s “L’amour.” It was a spectacular comeback for the legendary singer, 56. She describes her stiff neck syndrome as making it “feel like someone is choking me” when she tries to sing.
