The Bucs can clinch their third straight NFC South title with a win over the Saints on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium, but they will be without two defensive starters. Inactive players on game day include outside linebacker Shaq Barrett and cornerback Carlton Davis III.

Of course, it wasn’t a surprise to see some Bucks inactive players. Todd Bowles ruled out Barrett, Davis and tight end Ko Kieft. Friday, then tampa bay overpass Cornerback Derek Pitts Jr. and tight end David Wells were selected from the practice squad Saturday.

He will start at cornerback, as Zion McCollum has done several times this season as Davis and Jamel Dean battle injuries. He and Dean will look to slow down Derek Carr, Chris Olave, Rashid Shahid, and the rest of New Orleans’ passing attack.

With Barrett out, Tampa Bay will need other pass rushers to step up and put pressure on Carr. But the good news for the Bucs is that they’re getting a lot of contributions from other outside linebackers, whether it’s this year or last year. Heading into Sunday, Yaya Diaby leads the team in sacks with 6.5. He has the potential to produce, but Todd Bowles will need some other people.

Anthony Nelson is used to starting, having had to start when Barrett tore his Achilles tendon last year. Nelson has three sacks and six tackles for loss this year, and will be required to do more on Sunday. Getting more from Joe Tryon-Soyinka would help as well, as he’s stuck with four sacks and seven tackles for loss heading into Week 17.

It’s also worth noting that undrafted free agent Marquise Watts will play in Sunday’s game against New Orleans.

The Saints were already without several key players before the weekend began, with Ryan Ramczyk on injured reserve and Marshon Lattimore and Michael Thomas yet to return from injured reserve. . Peyton Turner was also questionable for this game, but found his name on the suspended list Sunday morning.

One key name missing from the inactive list is that of running back Alvin Kamara. Kamara was battling an illness and his status in Week 17 was in doubt. But then A report has been issued I thought it would be a good idea to go to Sunday’s game against the Bucks late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, and that’s exactly what happened.

New Orleans could postpone Tampa Bay’s district championship on Sunday afternoon, but its own district title and playoff hopes remain. A loss would drop the Saints’ record to 7-9 on the year, putting their postseason hopes in serious jeopardy. They will play the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday to close out the regular season.
