The Bucks defeated the Vikings 20-17 in Week 1, but that victory was not without some consequences.

Three Tampa Bay defensive starters were absent from Wednesday’s practice, and one of the injured backs is missing. Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

Cornerback Carlton Davis III suffered a toe injury and missed Wednesday’s practice.

Perhaps more concerning is the fact that rookie nickelback Christian Isien is in concussion protocol and has missed practice. This could leave the Bucs without their current interception leader against the Bears unless he clears concussion protocol by the end of the week. If Isien is unable to play Sunday, Dee Delaney will likely start at nickel cornerback for Tampa Bay, with Josh Hayes the backup.

The Bucks’ first-round pick suffered a calf strain on July 30 that caused him to miss most of training camp and the entire preseason. As a precautionary measure, the Bucks’ training staff held him out for the remainder of the game to avoid re-injuring his calf.

Bucks head coach Todd Bowles said in a press conference Wednesday that an MRI did not reveal any reinjury to the calf. The team hopes to be able to return to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday.

For the Bears, starting defensive back Kyler Gordon was out with a hand injury, and defensive back Josh Blackwell and linebacker Dylan Cole were limited to practice. Blackwell and Cole are suffering from hamstring injuries.
