Inside linebacker Sir Vosia Dennis, also known as “Vos,” has put together a great second season in the NFL and is playing a key role in Tampa Bay’s defense. After questions about whether the team properly addressed the position after Devin White left to the Eagles in free agency, Dennis is expected to build up tackles and continue to develop in a larger role next to veteran Lavonte David. Speaking to the media this week, David believes Dennis, 34, is capable of taking over his position should he decide to hang them out to dry.

Lavonte David is nearing the end of his NFL career, and the Bucs are considering who will replace him after his long reign as one of the league’s best inside linebackers. There must be.
David believes SirVocea Dennis can do it.
“Yeah, I believe that too,” David said. “Me and Vos are very comfortable with each other. He asks questions and I try to teach him certain things and stuff. He’s a guy who’s willing to learn. He’s willing to learn and wants to be great. When there was a young man who wanted to be coached and try to put what he learned into practice every moment on the practice field.
“That’s the guy you want on your football team, and Vos is one of those guys. Whenever I hang up the phone or whatever, I’m sure he’ll fill that role with gusto.” ”
Head coach Todd Bowles has a two-man rotation at inside linebacker between him and KJ Britt, which is as close to a 50/50 split as possible.

Dennis, who only played 101 defensive snaps in 13 games as a rookie, is already approaching that total with 99 defensive snaps in the first three games of the season.
KJ Britt and Dennis compete for snaps, and despite not playing as much as other defensive starters, Dennis ranks third on the team with 22 total tackles. ‘Vos’ also recorded his first career sack in the season opener and had a career-high 11 total tackles in Week 2 against the Lions.
He quickly claimed to be a physical player and a capable tackler with improved coverage skills. It’s no surprise that David sees Dennis as: future of the position.

Studying film has been a big part of his development, but working with his peers, including Lavonte David, has also contributed greatly to his development.
“I think it slowed me down for me,” Dennis said. “I think it’s because of a lot of film and being on the field with the guys. A lot of practice. I think the game has definitely slowed down for me, so I’m really excited to see where it goes from here.” ”
When it comes to where he has improved the most in his game, knowledge is power.
“Actually, I think it’s the knowledge of the game,” Dennis added. “At the end of the day, football is still football. But over the years, the speed has changed. The slower you go, the more you know. The more you know, the more you understand the game. I think this year was the biggest thing for me, gaining more knowledge and slowing myself down.”
Sarvosia Dennis is just starting to come into his own, and if he continues to play strong, he could be in the long-term plans as the Bucs’ starting inside linebacker.
