Bucs I signed Opeta last year Compete against Bembredeson for the starting left guard spot. Unfortunately, he suffered from a torn ACL at training camp and missed the entire season. Bredeson had a solid season as Tampa Bay’s offensive line was considered one of the five best in the NFL. A year later, Bredeson signed a three-year, $22 million contract, stayed with the team, Opeta also stayed, and was recovered from the injury.
He has been undrafted by Weber State, but he spent four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. In his first year, Opeta bounced back from the practice squad to the main roster, but was mostly on the active roster for the next three seasons. During his career, Opeta played 38 games. In 2023, he had 13 and had six starts.
Tampa Bay also brought back Opeta as a depth piece in the interior, Elijah Klein, from the 2024 round pick. Klein made progress last season and was able to play an important role. All five starters returned to the offensive line, so the Bucs made sure to solidify the depth at that position.
