British Airways announced on Tuesday that it will add two daily flights between San Diego International Airport and London Heathrow from April next year, increasing its number of direct flights.

British Airways has operated one direct flight to SAN-LHR every day since June 2011. According to the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, the current flight will be rescheduled from London to San Diego at 6:10 p.m., San Diego to London at 8 p.m., and a new second flight will arrive in San Diego at 3:25 p.m.Depart for London at 5:15pm

“Expanding British Airways flights between London Heathrow and San Diego International Airport opens up a world of possibilities,” said Airport Authority President and CEO Kimberly Becker. “Leisure and business travelers from San Diego will have more opportunities to explore London and its surrounding areas, while travelers from other parts of the world will have more access to San Diego’s beautiful beaches and year-round sunny climate. Passenger traffic between San Diego and Europe increased by 12% compared to 2019, and passenger traffic between San Diego and London increased by 28% compared to 2019 levels, according to airport authorities. Additional flights to London will begin on April 20, 2024.

London Heathrow Airport is the second busiest airport in the world and serves as the main hub for British Airways.
