Aubrey Plaza and Jeff Baena were separated for several months before their death in January, TMZ Report.
The separation began in September 2024 when it moved to New York, according to a medical inspector’s report obtained by TMZ.
I also confirmed that Baena had died of suicide.
According to TMZ, Aubrey spoke to police after his death. She shared that she had a phone conversation with Baena the night before he passed away. In the morning he texted her at 7:36am.
At about 10:30am, his dog walk arrived at his house. She noticed that there was a lot of music playing. She found his body when she opened the door.

Police also said Aubrey shared that in October 2024 Baena had shown several actions regarding her behavior and asked her friends to do welfare checks. She added that Jeff has been in treatment since then and has never attempted suicide.
The documents say no drugs or alcohol were found on the scene and Baena left no notes.
In January, Los Angeles County medical inspectors broke news that Baena had died in her LA residence, following deadlines.
After his death, Plaza said, “This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who provided us with support. Please respect your privacy during this period.”
Born in Miami on June 29, 1977, Baena received a major break with filmmaker David O. Russell.

Baena’s supervising project included Life After Beth (2014), where he oversaw the Plaza. “Joshi” (2016); “The Little Hours” (2017); and “The Horse Girl” (2020).
The couple presenting the humor of Deadpan offered the film “Closet Pick” for Criterion in 2017. In 2021, Baena created Showtime’s anthology series, “Cinema Toast,” making her Plaza’s directorial debut.
Plaza and Baena have been a couple since 2011, but she has kept their relationship away from the public eye.
