Arlene Sorkin, known for her role as Calliope in “Days of Our Lives” and the original voice of Harley Quinn, has died at the age of 67.
Her death was confirmed on Twitter by fellow voice actor Neil Kaplan. I have written“I was heartbroken to hear that Arlene Sorkin, the original voice of Harley Quinn, passed away. I adored the Days of Our Lives headquarters and her work as Calliope. .
Sorkin was born on October 14, 1955 in Washington, DC. She was a cabaret performer in her 70’s and 80’s, worked in comedy troupes and rose to her fame as Calliope Jones in “Days of Our Lives” (1984-1990, 1992). I made a profit. 2001; 2006; 2010).
She was also a regular on the series ‘Duet’ (1987-1989), co-host of ‘The Funniest People in America’ (1990), and as a writer on ‘Tiny Toon Adventures’ (1990-1992). 1997) and Jennifer Aniston’s vehicle “Picture Perfect” (1997).
It was Sorkin who inspired the character of Harley Quinn, the Joker’s girlfriend. Her college roommate Paul Dini created the character and first appeared in Batman: The Animated Series (1992). The characters were directly influenced by A series of strange dream sequences Sorkin appeared in “Days,” becoming the first voice actor to bring Harley Quinn to life, and has done so in several TV series and other projects.

Lady Gaga will play Harley Quinn in the 2024 feature film Joker: Folly-a-Do.
She won four Soap Opera Digest Awards and shared a Peabody Award with Jessica Hernandez.
Sorkin is survived by her husband of 26 years, TV producer and author Christopher Lloyd. and their sons Eli and Owen.
