Al Brown, who played Colonel Stan Walchek on the hit series The Wire, died Friday. he was 83 years old.

Brown’s daughter Jenny told TMZ Her father died in Las Vegas of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She also shared that before entering Hollywood in the ’90s, she was an Air Force veteran who took two tours in Vietnam.

Jenny added that her late father loved his fans and was always happy to stop and chat with anyone who might have recognized him on the show over the years. .

His character has appeared throughout the series, but he came out prominently in Season 2.
