Zachary Levy takes off his cape and plays a different kind of hero in “The Unbreakable Boy.”
“Extra” spoke with Levi. Levi has opened about the film. This is based on a true story about a real family that “navigates the waters of the human condition.”
In the film, Levi plays a father struggling with his own demons while his son deals with fragile bone disease and autism.
What struck Levy was how Scott’s role reflected his life. He said, “I have struggled with self-control throughout my life. At age 37, I had a mental breakdown, I didn’t want to live anymore, I learned why, through a very intensive therapy that saved my life, who never loved myself.
He added, “When I read the script, I was very moved by it, I cried, and I made me right with the senses.”
Levi is currently in his daddy days. He and his girlfriend Maggie Keating are looking forward to their first child together.
He said, “I’ve wanted to be a father since I was a child. I’m 44, I’ve lived so many lives, I’ve had so many treatments. I’m very excited. I’m not nervous at all.”
“The Unbreakable Boy” is currently in theaters.
