The world’s largest steam locomotive will be running in Roseville from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 12-13. Steam locomotive Big Boy No. 4014 will be open to the public as part of Union Pacific’s “Bog Boy Westward Bound” tour, which celebrates railroading traditions and honors employees and the communities it serves. During the tour, the train will make 19 stops in five states from Wyoming to California. Look for the “Experience Union Pacific” railcar at the event. This walk-through exhibit gives attendees a glimpse into railroading history through sound, images and interactive technology. In addition to the 1.1 million-pound steam locomotive, additional activities will be held at Vernon Street Square on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can expect: Live music by the Sacramento City Little Big Band Food trucks Western performances by the Black Flag Gang Vernon Street Town Square Spray Grounds Maker’s Market with vendors and a kids’ zone The train will next open to the public in Ogden, Utah for two days, July 20-21.
