Of course, Spader said she was able to accumulate so many points because she regularly shops at Ulta for work.

“It’s based on your spending,” she said in another TikTok, adding that once you reach the Platinum or Diamond level, your points no longer expire like they do at the basic membership level.

“I buy a lot of big purchases and splurges during Ulta’s points multiplier sales to maximize my points on every purchase,” Spader tells The Daily Dot.

“A lot of people said in the comments that points are still awarded at the time of purchase, so it’s not technically free. I like to review for hobby and work, so I bought it anyway. I think I am.”

Over the summer, Ulta employees showed off similar deep discounts, with a combination of discounts and points bringing the total to 85 cents off nearly $800.

Other Ulta customers have recorded similar earnings thanks to points. Last summer, his TikToker named Dayanara reduced his total revenue of nearly $700 to less than $1.
