Lemon Lexus?

If you’ve ever done any research on car quality, you might be surprised to hear that new Lexus buyers are having issues. Jessenia says the problem with her Lexus isn’t with the car’s mechanical parts, but with the infotainment system. Drivers say they have to restart the car, depending on usage, to get the stereo to work properly.
“When you have to turn off the entire car for the stereo system to actually work,” she wrote in the caption, with the lash extension technician adding that it happens when music is played at a volume above 40. For reference, her Lexus’s maximum volume is 60.
The TikTok user’s video begins with her walking around the outside of her car. She opens the driver’s side front door and sits inside. As she drives, she demonstrates that the car cannot play music at full volume. A passenger touches the car’s entertainment console, but no music comes through the speakers, despite it being at full volume.

“Try taking off that shiny push start ring,” another user chimed in. They added a brother’s experience: “My sister had it on and her car started acting really weird.” According to the TikTok user, the issue had to do with a magnet inside the product. “The dealer realized it was messing with the magnetic field.”
But Jessenia said this wasn’t an issue with her 2024 Lexus. “It was! I didn’t have it on for months. Then I put it on and took it off and it was still the same.”
Others believe the problem is a general problem with new cars: “New cars are loaded with software and tech features and they’re just awful,” one person said. “I love my 2007 Lexus and have had no issues.”
