Florida moms claim that Barbolin’s instant oil changes irreparably damaged her son’s car.

Now Sherry (@thatpatriotchick34) Warn people not to change oil with Valbolin.
The benefits were horribly wrong
Shelley says she paid $170 to change the oil at her son’s 2014 Ford Focus. She was a “nice mom,” she said, and paid for the extra premium oil.
She says everything was fine at first.
That changed the next day.
“He drives to Disney with three friends and his car starts smoking,” says Shelley.
The car wouldn’t exceed 35 mph, so they called for a tow truck.
The driver knew exactly what was wrong, she claims.
“The towing truck driver peered into the oil and noticed that Valbolin had overfilled the oil in 3-4 quarts,” she adds.
She called the company and they sent technicians to see the car.
She might have thought that Barbolin would do it right. Shelley says it’s not what happened at all.
From bad to worse
The technician reportedly drained the oil. According to Shelley, there was at least one more quot than Ford Focus was supposed to have.
She claims that the car continues to smoke and still won’t be over 35.
So they took it to Barbolin.
A few days later, the company called. Shelley couldn’t believe what they said.
“It’s said that this wasn’t their fault. They didn’t cause any problems by burying too much oil,” she says in Tiktok. “They said it was a motor mount.”
Shelley told Daily Dott that she was a single mother who mortgaged her home to buy a car for her son a few years ago.
“He needs it to go back and forth to work,” she said via Tiktok DM.
“…Balbolin initially made the claim, but said that despite the tow truck driver and his own technician came out, it was clearly an over-excessive.”
She is alive and wants to pay Barbolin.
“I hope the Barbolin Shop accepts responsibility and can fix my son’s car,” she said.
Through email, a Valvoline spokesman declined to comment on inquiries sent Wednesday, besides saying the company is “still communicating with this particular customer.”
Shelley confirmed that Barbolin had contacted her.
“Ironically, the district manager would like to contact me at 11am this morning to find out what the bill is from my private mechanic.
She said she was said to have been said to have been made earlier.
Hundreds of people shared their thoughts in comments.
Many people were blown away by car maintenance costs
“$170 for the oil exchange is a criminal!”
They may have a point. Around Nald Warettthe average oil exchange should cost between $20 and $100.
The outlet reports that changes to valveborine oil range from around $45 to $95 in the Chicago area.
Sherry says he doesn’t know why the oil change was so expensive.
One suggested that Shelley take the vehicle to an independent, Ford-certified inspector.
“Suh under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act,” they added.
Another urged Florida Agricultural Consumer Services to file a complaint. Sherry replied that she already had it.
Shelley already plans her next step.
“Now my son doesn’t have a car thanks to Valbolin, so I’ll spread his Balbolin and their BS all over the internet,” she said in the video, “probably submitting a small claim suit.”
