Busta Rhymes attended the premiere of “Venom: The Last Dance” in New York on Monday.
He spoke to Extra’s Mona Kosar Abdi about his health journey, his friendship with Tom Hardy and his Marvel ambitions. Mr. Busta also reflected on the Sean “Diddy” Combs case and why he is withholding judgment or opinion for now.
Busta talked about his focus on fitness and how he inspires his children to change themselves.
He said: “It’s about busting your butt, continuing to go to the gym, and continuing to follow your diet even more. And I don’t even like to call it a diet. I like to call it a lifestyle change. You have to create a serious lifestyle. To me, the most important thing is to be a cool guy and a hero to my kids, be deathly happy, and be deathly healthy. It’s a work in progress and I was still making progress, but I started hearing that I wasn’t looking so cool to my kids and they didn’t like it. It made me want to save myself and be here for my family.”
When Mona mentioned that Tom Hardy was inspired by the voice of Busta, who played the Batman villain Bane, Busta responded, “It’s not just great, it’s planted a seed for us to actually connect with each human being.” It’s the first time I’ve seen it,” he commented. other. I’ve always been a huge fan of Tom, from the movies ‘The Drop’ to ‘Legend’ to ‘Bronson’ and in my opinion he’s just one of the most phenomenal actors in the world. ”
Furthermore, he added: “Once we had a chance to talk to each other, there was a natural progression of how the relationship developed, and now he’s like a brother and a friend to me, and I had a phone call and a real We can talk, sometimes for hours, because he knows my personal desire to be prominent in the world of film and television.”
Busta said Tom has given him “incredible guidance” and added: “He’s also someone who has grown up with Busta Rhymes since the beginning of my solo career. When he was in Busta Rhymes. “He told me a story about the moment he may have met me,” he added. It was in his teenage years when I was performing in different parts of Europe and loved what I was doing as an MC. ”
There’s a mutual respect as creators,” he continued, “which not only led to us building a friendship, but also a great opportunity to create a commercial to promote the movie Venom.” It worked out incredibly well, and it led to a lot of great ideas for things we would do together that would probably surprise and shock a lot of people. That’s why I give Tom Hardy the honor of a seven-star general.”
Busta has stated that he wants to be part of the MCU, claiming, “We’re going to make it happen…Marvel, we’ll find a way to incorporate Busta Rhymes as a dragon in the Marvel Universe in some way, so stay tuned.”
On a more serious note, Busta spoke about Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently in prison awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to charges of racketeering, conspiracy, sex trafficking and prostitution transportation.
Busta asserted that this is a “not hip-hop” situation and stressed the importance of reserving opinions until the truth is no longer in dispute.
He commented: “First of all, I think he should quit the hip-hop scene. His situation is not a hip-hop situation. And I ask everyone to keep in mind the desire and the urgency and the need to talk about the situation. I think a lot of times people don’t realize how insensitive it is to have opinions about things that they don’t understand, other than what they’re being told. We know that propaganda is real, and we know that truth is real, and I would like to wait for the truth to be known before I start seriously trying to understand it. Because I believe that understanding is the absence of confusion. Understanding is the reflection of knowledge and wisdom. Truth is indisputable. We do not confuse ourselves or judge prematurely. I don’t think they understand how bad decisions or unwarranted opinions can directly and indirectly affect everyone involved.”
Mr Rhimes said: “That being said, I reserve my opinion and wish everyone involved the best of luck…One thing we should all take away from what I’m saying is that perhaps everyone should consider the following: “We need to do that.” Never mind that they do a shitty job until the truth is indisputable. At that point, justice needs to be served for all involved. ”
He said: “It’s unfortunate. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy and I’m speaking for the victim and for Didi.” So, I’m gonna leave it there, I’m gonna mind my own business, and hopefully everyone will find their opinions in their own hearts and not hurt someone every time they voice an opinion. Please be aware that this may be the case. ”
“Right now, I don’t dispute what I see,” Basta said. “Even if I saw something, I had nothing to say. But I wasn’t there for any of it. “I don’t think it’s for the sake of the people who were there.” , think about them first before thinking about your own opinion.
