The 128GB iPhone 14 is £850 in Apple Stores, as Apple isn’t known to offer discounts on current models. However, you can get the same phone for £50 cheaper through Amazon.
The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are some of our favorite smartphones for 2022, both discounted from their launch prices. You can get similar deals from Google itself, but Amazon’s prices are a few pounds cheaper.
Sony’s Xperia 1 IV is a very interesting phone, but one that will only appeal to select people. Some of that comes at a painfully high price, but now it’s slightly less painful.
There’s also the smaller Sony Xperia 5 IV, but at just £150 less than the 1 IV, is it really worth it? It’s a fairly tall phone, depending on whether you want the device or not.
Sony’s mid-range Xperia 10 IV has a microSD slot and a 3.5m headphone jack just like its flagship sibling, and the battery life for this generation is outstanding. The Mark 4 flagship may be out of your budget, but the 10 IV should be considered if you’re looking for a mid-he Ranger.
We end this section with the Samsung Galaxy M53. It’s a big phone with a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, a zippy Dimensity 900, along with a 108MP camera and his appropriately sized 5,000mAh battery.
The Motorola Edge 30 packs an impressive 144Hz 6.5 inch OLED display (FHD+ resolution) and stands out in the 300-400 Euro category. The Snapdragon 778G+ is equipped with a fully functional GPU – the flagship class Adreno 642L. It also allows for dual 50MP camera setups. However, the 4,020mAh battery is a bit small.
The Pixel a series has a loyal following, and the Pixel 6a is one of the best entries to date. It’s a bit smaller than the Pixel 7, uses his original Tensor chipset, and has two 12MP cameras. It’s still about half the price of the Pixel 7 while offering most of the same features.
The Nokia X30 isn’t the most attractive phone out there, but it’s expected to receive three years of OS updates. Note that this counts from September 2022. This is a good choice for someone who doesn’t spend all day studying smartphone specs. .
Finally, something cheap – the Moto E22. It also has a card slot and a 3.5mm jack so you can load MP3s and skip your Spotify subscription.
Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy S23 series in February, so it’s the worst time to buy an S22, or the best time considering the price has dropped to $650. With OS updates, one of which is already in place, plus a year of security patches, it will be a while before the S22 is retired.
That said, you might want to pick up the Galaxy Z Flip 4 instead. Foldables are the form factor of the future as far as Samsung is concerned, but the only thing holding them back is the price. The Z Flip4 has gotten cheaper over time and is currently $850. Note that Z Flip 5 isn’t too far away, either.But we have about half a year before it comes out.
If foldable isn’t your thing, check out the OnePlus 10T. At $550, it comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset (the S22 has the original 8 Gen 1). It doesn’t have the best camera settings, but it has a very fast charge of 125W.
The 2021 Apple iPad Pro 12.9 uses the older Apple M1 chip, and the 2022 model has switched to the M2. However, the M1 is still one of the fastest laptop chips, so it’s basically better than any other tablet (except its successors).
Now let’s look at wearables. $50 off the latest Apple Watch Series 8. Below he linked the 41mm model, but the 45mm model is just $30 more. Note that this is the version without LTE connectivity.
If the Series 8 is too expensive, how about the new Apple Watch SE (2022)? It uses a smaller, older display, lacks ECG and skin temperature sensors, but has most other features and is $100+ cheaper.

Or you have the Samsung Galaxy Watch5. It’s about the same price as the SE, but with an ECG and blood pressure monitor. You can also get the Watch5 Pro if you want longer battery life.
Finally, Amazon has dropped the price of the new Kindle Scribe tablet by a few dollars. Although it has limited smart features compared to Android tablets, we still call it a tablet. Still, the 10.2-inch E-Ink display is easy on the eyes while reading documents or jotting down notes with the included stylus.
Start things off with an old but mighty flagship. The Xiaomi 12 Pro may not feature his 1-inch sensor on its successor, but the triple 50MP camera is still well-featured. It also has his 6.73-inch QHD+ display in high quality for viewing photos. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is slower, but not a slouch, with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 is about to be replaced, but the new model doesn’t come cheap. The S22 is slightly more expensive than Xiaomi, making it attractive to those looking for a smaller device.
While we’re at it, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is a cheap way to get a high-end chipset (Snapdragon 865 in this case) with 5G connectivity.
You can use the Snapdragon 888 instead. With iQOO 9 SE, you can buy cheaper. You can play games on the 6.62 inch 120Hz AMOLED display using the chipset. The 4,500mAh battery can be quickly charged with a 66W charger. It only takes 14 minutes to get back to 50%.
The Redmi Note 12 series has just launched in India, but the base model starts at Rs 15,500 for a 4/128GB unit. The old Redmi Note 11 goes down to Rs 12,500 for the version with 6 GB of RAM. Comparing the two, the new model is equipped with an ultra-wide-angle camera and a microSD slot. No 5G connection, small and slow screen – 6.43″ 90Hz vs 6.67″ 120Hz. The 5,000mAh battery is the same (33W charging).
Finally, the Tecno Spark 9 in the under Rs 10,000 category. It runs a full pedigree of Android 12 (powered by HIOS 8.6) in place of the Go Edition, and features a 6.6-inch IPS LCD that’s spacious if not too crisp. HD+ resolution only. It also has a large capacity battery of 5,000mAh.
