UAE authorities have issued a remote advisory for private businesses and schools due to the bad weather.

According to Khaleej Times, from Friday, March 8, 2024 to Sunday, March 10, 2024, the UAE is expected to experience heavy rain, thunderstorms and hail.

On Friday, March 8, 2024, the National Emergency and Emergency Management Agency (NCEMA) issued a severe weather warning for the entire country this weekend. Authorities reiterated the previous day’s weather warning, saying that severe weather conditions are expected to become more severe in the future.

NCEMA appealed on X/Twitter to the public to follow instructions and guidance issued by public authorities. Residents are being told to be careful during bad weather and refrain from going out unless necessary.

Officials have released a series of posts detailing several public safety measures.

Private companies are being urged to allow employees to “work remotely” as severe thunder, lightning and even hail storms are expected across the UAE.

On Friday, the UAE Human Resources and Emirates (MOHRE) in a circular told businesses to apply flexible working patterns depending on weather conditions.

Public schools in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, also held remote classes on Friday due to bad weather.

Travelers heading out of the country this weekend are also advised to arrive at the airport early to avoid delays. According to reports, Dubai International Airport (DXB), Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Sharjah International Airport are currently operating as scheduled.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a warning for flooding in some areas. Officials said the worst weather conditions will occur from late Friday night until late Saturday night.
