The Biden administration on Thursday said it was “severely” restricting dozens of organizations, mostly in China, including at least one chip maker, for trying to use advanced technology to help modernize China’s military. rice field.

Thursday’s press release specified that 30 groups have been added to the Entity List for activities related to their efforts to obtain U.S. material to bolster China’s military modernization. Another group was added for alleged involvement in China’s human rights abuses against Uyghurs and other Muslim groups in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region and for helping Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps obtain US goods. .
The Biden administration also said it would lift some restrictions on a total of 25 Chinese companies that have successfully passed U.S. checks to ensure their exports are being used in the alleged manner.
