PHOENIX — The US Department of Energy recently approved the Arizona Department of Housing’s latest weathering support program plan.
According to a press release, the DOE will provide 35% of the total funding ($47 million) to states as part of the bipartisan infrastructure act.
Arizona’s WAP was one of the first to be approved in the country.
Local clean energy advocates are using these additional funds to help Arizona secure more than $23 million to help low-income individuals, families, retirees and veterans reduce their energy bills. Kudos to ADOH for seizing the opportunity to apply.
According to the release, the remaining funds will be made available after the first program milestones are achieved.
