Former President Trump on Monday spoke out about the anti-Israel protests that have disrupted American universities and campuses.
The presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee is not scheduled to appear in court on Monday, but he spent the morning reviewing his case on Truth Social. His posts also included one about students protesting Israel’s war with Hamas, the terrorist group that rules Gaza.
“Stop the protests now!!!” President Trump said in an all-caps post.
The post comes as the number of students and anti-Semitic agitators arrested at protests nationwide approaches 900 since New York police cleared an anti-Israel protest encampment at Columbia University on April 18. It was held in the middle of the day.

Students are protesting the rising death toll in the Gaza Strip amid Israel’s efforts to eliminate Hamas, which carried out the deadliest attack in the country’s history on October 7, 2023. In the ensuing war, more than 34,000 people died, most of them civilian women and children. .
Anti-Israel groups are calling on universities to stop investing in companies that support the Israeli military and its actions in Gaza. Students remained on campus despite several schools requesting that camps be canceled.

President Trump’s comments Monday morning came amid other posts about “Crooked Joe Biden,” whom he called “the worst president in American history.” President Trump also addressed various lawsuits he is facing, which Republican candidates have described as “election interference.”

Hundreds of protesters were arrested on various college campuses across the country Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning as destructive demonstrations continued over the weekend.
About 275 people were arrested Saturday at schools including Indiana University Bloomington and Arizona State University.

On Saturday, police in riot gear arrested about 102 students at an encampment on Northeastern University’s campus in Boston.
Also on Saturday, police cleared masked protesters at Washington University in St. Louis and arrested more than 100 people, including students and university staff.

Late Sunday and into Monday morning, campus police at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, physically removed some protesters from the encampment and arrested them.

Campus protests nationwide have surged since students at Columbia University, widely seen as the epicenter of the current protests, pitched tents and formed an encampment in the center of campus. They vowed to stay until the university withdraws from Israel.
