president Donald Trump He has appointed Republic Airlines CEO Brian Bedford to lead the Federal Aviation Administration in the face of growing scrutiny following a series of crashes.
A pilot and industry veteran for over 30 years, Bedford previously led two other careers to oversee the major expansion of the Republic Airways.
“Brian brings over 30 years of experience in aviation and executive leadership to this important position,” Trump said.
Based in Indiana, the Republic is one of North America’s largest regional airlines and operates a fleet of over 900 Embral aircraft in the United States and Canada. The flights operate with Airline Partner Brands American Eagle, Delta Connectionn and United Express.
The Bedford nomination won praise from the airline.
The FAA position has been vacant since January 20th, when FAA administrator Mike Whitaker dropped his five-year term at least a year when Trump took office. The FAA is run tentatively by Associate Administrator Chris Rocherrow.
