Former President Donald Trump held a nearly hour-long press conference on Friday in which he denied any wrongdoing in any of the cases against him and briefly criticized the legal team supporting him.
In particular, Trump went after his three lawsuits in New York and the election investigation being conducted by Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis, who he accused of cooperating with officials prosecuting him in many cases.
Trump, a former president and 2024 Republican candidate, is in his home town to appeal the jury’s verdict in the civil lawsuit filed by author E. Jean Carroll, which found him liable for sexual abuse and defamation and fined him $5 million.
“This is a disgraceful case, and it’s particularly disgraceful when it involves a former president of the United States who is currently polling increasingly likely to become president again,” Trump said. “And this case is being pursued in coordination with the Department of Justice, as it is with all our other cases.”

On another occasion, he accused the judges of being partisan and trying to hide certain evidence from his case.
“I have legal talent, but I can’t beat a corrupt judge. I can’t win in a place where the vote is 4 percent Republican,” Trump said, referring to the trial taking place in a Democratic stronghold.
“To be honest with you, I’m disappointed in my legal talent. They’re good people. They’re good people. They’re talented people,” he added, with his lawyers listening behind him.

President Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in all civil and criminal lawsuits he has faced since leaving office.
In addition to the Carroll case, Trump was in New York to hear New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Marchan’s decision on whether to postpone sentencing in his criminal trial over hush money paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election. A jury convicted Trump earlier this year on 34 charges related to falsifying business records.
The sentence was scheduled to be handed down on Sept. 18, but Trump’s lawyers petitioned on Friday to have it postponed until after the November election, and were granted.

While President Trump has criticized the judges in some of his cases, he has praised Florida federal judge Eileen Cannon, who presided over Special Counsel Jack Smith’s classified documents case.
“I think she’s a fantastic woman. I think she handled a fraud case. This was a fraud case,” Trump said. “We won that case.”
