CHARLOTTE — The sport that continues to dominate the nation is coming to Camp North End.
Tipsy Pickle, a concept created by Charlotte business veterans and entrepreneurs Mike Salzarulo and Tanner Brooks, features six pickleball courts in a 35,000-square-foot space at 201 Camp Road. It offers a court, three bars, and a Tex-Mex style eatery.
In addition to four indoor and two outdoor pickleball courts, entertainment facilities will include a golf simulator, table tennis, pool table, shuffleboard, cornhole and darts.
“Pickleball is growing in popularity by leaps and bounds, and we want to create a place where everyone feels welcome, from pros to beginners to sideline heroes who just want to have a good time,” Brooks said. he said in a news release.
The expansive grounds include 25,000 square feet of indoor space and 10,000 square feet of outdoor space, including an indoor and outdoor bar on the main level, a cocktail lounge on the mezzanine level, and more for all ages and occasions, from 10 to max. Contains multiple corresponding event spaces. Over 1,000 guests.

“Our goal is to create a place where everyone can unwind, unwind and relax. Given the variety of activities we have planned and the excellent food and drink options, you could not ask for a better place than Camp North End. We couldn’t find a location,” Salzarulo said. “Our vision is that people can use this every week or even every day to create a different experience every time they come.”
Custom technology is being developed to manage pickleball leagues, reservations and other activations, Salzarulo and Brooks said.
The pair hired chef Chad Newton and You Are Here Hospitality to handle the culinary aspects, and Southwick Architecture and Interiors to handle the design.
The project is targeted to open as early as summer 2024.
