They’re Making A Sequel To ‘Twister’ (1996)–Here’s What We Know So Far

Most disaster movies are epic end of the world. world flood (year 2012) or (day after tomorrow) and very little, if any, of the surviving world population.But its doomsday vibe falls short of my own favorite disaster movie: 1996’s Chasing the Storm. extreme weather movies, twisterIt’s island-style and quiet, at least compared to other movies in its genre. Sure, tornadoes do serious damage, but they don’t end humanity. Still, it’s loved by many for its poignant performances by Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton, and the stunning tornado graphics that remain the same over 25 years later. If you expect it to be called twister 2, I hate to give you bad news.Instead, this true sequel is being called twister– As if the original tornado was only one, now there are two. Some fans of the original have completely chopped the name choice on Twitter.

To be honest, it feels a little picky to me. Past movie sequels had far worse names. (i still know what you did last summer? Isn’t that right? 2 I know what you did before the summer?)
