Another national meat recall underway listeria monocytogenes Pollution, and it’s much more terrifying than last time.
As of Oct. 15, Durant, Okla.-based meatpacker Bruce Pack has issued a recall. 11.8 million pounds of cooked meat and poultry products After a routine safety inspection by the federal government revealed that listeria monocytogenesPotentially deadly bacteria was detected in samples of the company’s poultry. This discovery triggered an immediate recall, which was first announced on October 9th. But authorities are still working to understand the extent of the contamination and are struggling to identify the hundreds of products that may have been contaminated.
“We do not have a list of retail products that include our recalled items because we sell our products to other companies who resell, repackage, or use them as ingredients in other foods. I haven’t.” Bruce Pack said in a statement. Updated on October 15th.
Depending on packaging, products may have establishment number 51205 or P-51205 inside or below the USDA mark of inspection. However, for now, the best way for consumers to determine whether they have purchased an affected product is to look through it. 342 page list List of products identified to date by the USDA.
The unorganized document lists fresh and frozen foods sold at general retailers such as 7-Eleven, Aldi, Amazon Fresh, Giant Eagle, Kroger, Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Wegmans. Affected products include well-known brand names such as Atkins, Boston Market, Dole, Fresh Express, Jenny Craig, Michelina’s, Taylor Farms, and store brands such as Target’s Good & Gather. The products subject to the recall were manufactured between May 31, 2024 and October 8, 2024.
In its latest update, the USDA noted that some of the recalled products were also distributed to schools, but did not specify which schools received the products. It was also delivered to restaurants.
