A research library is also on site for further exploration of railroad history.

The La Raza Cultural Center celebrates Chicano, Latinx, and Indigenous art and culture through visual art exhibits, film screenings, and live performances. It also offers gallery space for established and emerging artists to display their work to visitors. Exhibits typically change monthly. The murals inside the space are worth seeing.
House of Pacific Relations International Cottages
This collection of historic cottages built at the Exposition in 1935 lets you experience 34 countries without having to travel the world. If you visit on a Saturday or Sunday, each house will give you an interesting perspective on the country and culture. The annual ethnic food fair is popular with tourists and locals alike.

Comic Con Museum
This is the place for lovers of comics, public culture, and all things Comic-Con. This is the first new museum to be opened in Balboa Park in 27 years. Located in the Federal Building, built in 1935, it housed U.S. government exhibits during the California Pacific International Exposition.
Marston House
Architecture buffs visiting the park on the weekend will want to check out this Arts and Crafts-style 20th-century home. It was designed by prominent local architects William Hebard and Irving Gill. During your stay, enjoy exploring the house, gardens, carriage house, and visiting the gift shop.
San Diego Mineral and Gem Association
This small museum is housed in the San Diego Mineral and Gem Society building and admission is free. It houses an extensive collection of minerals, gemstones, fossils, and other specimens dating back more than 75 years.
