Dear Martin, a best-selling young adult book that was formerly a must-read in Haywood County, North Carolina, is about a half-Latino, half-white police officer who apparently listens to George Zimmerman, following a black man named Justice. It begins with a scene where the boy is questioned. The police officer is portrayed as a threat and Justice as the innocent victim of his anger and racism.

This best-selling young adult book throws nearly every racial incident, act of violence, and biased disobedience into a poor boy. This whole book is about only one thing: race. Especially that America is still a racist country for black kids.

The book was nonetheless named the winner of the William C. Morris Book Award for Best Young Adult Literature. At a Heywood County Board of Education meeting, the father stood up and explained that the book was not suitable for children, citing the protagonist’s girlfriend’s numerous insults and artless details. Still, local newspapers and parents questioned whether his father was really racist.

Charter Schools Outperform Public Schools: Report

Fathers should not claim the feasibility of the theme of racial abuse, even if it means risking cancellation. Consider the intensity of a book like Dear Martin, and how it affects young, impressionable minority children.

According to a poll of American blacks, when reading the passage by author Tanahishi Coates, “In America, it’s only natural to destroy black bodies,” blacks who say they control their own lives. In effect, the book trains black children to fear white people. A police officer shoots Justice’s black friend dead. White clever Alec verbally bullies Justice. Justice’s own mother warns against dating white women.

It may be true that books like “Dear Martin” simply reflect in literary form the wisdom that has been accepted by black families in the United States. If so, that common sense needs to change in light of the reality that black Americans no longer face the level of racism they had in her ’50s and her ’60s.

Given the rate at which blacks in America get into arguments, blacks are less likely to be shot dead by police than whites. His 60% of black Americans believe they are better off financially than their parents.

Black people in America are getting a college education like never before. But our “black history” courses and readings that reflect “black history” still largely support the notion that America is racist toward black people.

When black Americans are challenged with teachings that emphasize such a depressing worldview, they become more depressed and cynical about their condition.

Birkbeck University, London poll of black Americans When a black American reads a line by Tanahishi Coates, the leading authority on Critical Racial Theory, that “In America, it’s only natural to destroy the black body,” it puts them in control of their own lives. The percentage of blacks who say yes has decreased from 83% to 68%.

That said, many predominantly black communities in America are not without serious problems. The average score for white Americans on the international test index PISA is 521, the third highest in the world among countries.

However, the average PISA score for black Americans is 436, comparable to developing countries such as Egypt and Mexico. Similarly, even schools in high-income counties populated primarily by black Americans tend to perform poorly compared to schools with a high mix of races.

Black-majority Prince George County, Maryland, has a median household income of $91,124, about the same as the state, but only 25% of students take grade-level reading tests and math grade-level Only 10% of students take the test.

A reactionary reaction to these statistics would be to say that black Americans’ educational success is doomed. But some of our all-black charter schools, such as Thistle-Walker School in Harlem, have narrowed the reading gap between black and white children by more than two-thirds.

Some of the keys in these schools emphasize early childhood speech education, a policy popular with many advocates for bridging racial achievement gaps, with real consequences for unruly behavior. to foster strong disciplinary policies that bring

Former President Barack Obama’s Chapter 6 Guidance, written in 2010, made it much harder for school principals to do so by calling for “racial equality” in disciplinary action. In other words, black children had to be disciplined at the same rate as whites despite above-average violent altercations. .

Black people in America are getting a college education like never before. But our “black history” courses and readings that reflect “black history” still largely support the notion that America is racist toward black people.

As a result, Virginia school violence increased 45% between 2011 and 2016, 62% of which were complaints about black children.

Things are made worse because critical racial theories — the idea that America is a systemically racist nation — are embedded in schools.

The University of North Carolina’s School of Health Sciences condemned the lectures as “systematically lacking.”[ing] In the name of anti-racism, they are creating a climate of ever more mediocrity for black students.

Advocates have even accused our math teaching methods of being racist toward black children under the lens of a cathode-ray tube. But they can’t explain why Asian children, who are also a minority, do so well in math in a country that is known to be racist.

Of course, the CRT nullifies hard work and study. A Khan Academy study showed that a black child who took her 20 hours of Khan Academy mock tests was able to improve her corresponding SAT scores even more than a corresponding white child. The problem is getting these kids to take 20 hours of Khan Academy practice tests, which few non-Asian minorities do.

Overall, in the guise of solving “racism,” American schools are lax about teaching what actually works, and instead teach everything that doesn’t. Moreover, they bombard black children with devastating tales of hatred of white people, giving them a spiteful future with few opportunities.

Let’s be really frank here. The problems facing black people in America today are not because of America’s “unconscious prejudices” against black children. Because of the systemic failure of the CRT-based education system that helps black children grow and succeed.
