Now, after two great events in Hawaii, the PGA TOUR is now in full swing. Moving on to American Express at PGA West in La Quinta, California. What this tournament has offered over the past few years is low scores, sunny weather and great weather in his 60s weather forecast, and I don’t think that trend will break here. Hudson Stafford, last year’s winner, recorded his 23-under and is playing on his tour for LIV Golf, so a new winner is guaranteed.
As a fan, there are three players I watch throughout the tournament here. First he was Xander Schauffele, who had finished in the top 10 in his last four starts before the Tournament of Champions was pulled out by injury. I think this can continue on courses where players like him can score, and I wouldn’t mind having him in every possible prop bet on him. Rickie Fowler was also a hot figure in the field this weekend and if you listen to the podcast (which you can find below) you’ll hear Jacob spotted him at +110 to finish in the top 40. Let’s be the easiest bet of the weekend. A lesser-known player spotted on the field is Doug Ghim. Ghim is in the top 40 with +275 and has missed a cut in the past few months, but it’s going to be a great weekend for the Chicago native. Although he didn’t finish in the top 40 at last year’s event with a -7, he did manage to achieve a few top 20 performances later in the summer. I think this year could be a breakout year for your child, and it could start today.
A notable figure would be Jon Rahm, as he may not live up to his standards. He may still be in the top 20, but with the WM Phoenix Open approaching, Rahm is an interesting pick. Rahm, who attended college in Arizona, is sure of a performance in Phoenix, but with the event looming, he’s confused in his head and TPC’s stadium at Scottsdale is preparing his course a little early. may start at I’m not telling you to bet on Rahm because he’s probably the best golfer in the world, but I’m also not going to bet all my chips on him.
