Kevin Hart was a hit with the NYC premiere of “Number One on the Call Sheet: Hollywood’s Black Leading Man.” Starpack produced with Jamie Fox and has put the spotlight on Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Michael B. Jordan and many more industry leaders.
Mona Kosar Abdi of “Extras” spoke with Kevin about a documentary celebrating the grit, strength and brilliance of those who came before us, aiming to elevate the next generation.
“I mean, listen, you’re talking about information. I think one of the things that our business lacks is the portal where that information resides, or where it exists. That’s a discovery. There’s no volunteer platform where people say, “To let you come and come and go here to learn, educate yourself.” ”
He said, “The more people talk about their stories, the more they can remove the little things and apply them anywhere. But it comes from information, so this is just how we come together and become very active and simply talk about our reasons, and more importantly, our discoveries of success after success.
“It doesn’t happen when you reach number one,” Hart continued. So you know, it comes with the additional effort to share information with you, give you advice, let you know, and that’s what this is. This is a great documentary where people are open and people drop their gems, and those gems should never be left on the floor. ”
Kevin also shared that being number one on the call sheet is about leadership that encourages others to follow.
He explained: And the examples you set up or grow up are those that the studio is attracting attention. When the partner attached to the product is the partner that pays attention and you work with purpose, other people chase after it, others center it around it. ”
He explained in detail. [being] Number one is “Hey, I don’t want a bad day in the same way I don’t want a bad day, so how do I help everyone here have a good day?” If that makes me smile every day, if I’m rehearsing before a project, if I’m meeting and talking with the cast and producers and directors, then it’s just a pipeline where people can remain true, just provide services that don’t exist but exist, just provide services that exist, and they just provide services that exist. ”
“And that’s how I get what I like to call reputation,” Kevin added. “Reputation is what you create. So what is your reputation and how do you want to be number one in business?
When Mona raised people who were eager to be like Kevin, he said, “I know very much that I’m older and become a veterinarian in our business.”
“We have a responsibility. That responsibility is to try and position the next people in the best way beyond what we did and beyond. The wave of actresses, entrepreneurs, influencers, next drama is the next wave of directors and producers.
If they want to be number one in anything, what advice does he give to his children?
He replied. “I say the same thing I tell my kids every day. The talk is cheap, the actions are loud. Don’t be the speaker, become the actor.”
“Number One of Call Sheets” will premiere on Apple TV+ on March 28th.
