GH: What I did at halftime of this Rams game. The last time you played in the Super Bowl, you and long snapper Clark Harris got into trouble with special teams coordinator Darin Simmons for watching the halftime show.

EM: I did the same thing I did the last Rams game I played.

I used the toilet. Chewed on something like Uncrustable. I drank some water and headed back to the field. That’s exactly what I did with the other one. By chance, there was a concert at another venue.

GH: Did you see the Ring of Honor ceremony?

EM: It was too late. Just like last time, we had to wait for the field to clear before we could start warming up. But I just sat and waited for it all to be over.

GH: You did the same thing.

EM: that’s right. It’s exactly the same thing. It’s routine.

GH: Did Coach Simmons say anything to you?

EM: No, we’re all fine. We were just deciding which way to kick off the second half.

EM: That depends on things like the wind and which direction you kick in the fourth quarter. We obviously kicked towards the river.

If we start the second half, we can kick it for City in the fourth quarter if we need a winner in a long game.

GH: Okay. His 54-yard gain with 7:13 left in the fourth was the game-winner.

EM: That’s crazy. You never know which one will affect the outcome of the game. There is a kick that decides the game in the second or first quarter. Because if I had gone to his 5-on-3 or 2-on-5, it would have really cost me. It will be interesting to see how a field goal in the second quarter will affect the outcome.

GH: When you hear about going to Tennessee, what comes to mind?

EM: Tennessee is just so much fun. I feel like I’ve been there a lot in the last two years.

GH: That’s one of those great moments.

EM: It was a great moment. I have great memories there. It’s a fun stadium to play in because it’s close to home. (Fort Payne, Alabama, is a two-and-a-half hour drive from Nashville) Maybe that’s why I feel so comfortable there.

GH: What do you remember about the 52-yarder?

EM: It was a very calm night. Of course, I remember getting the big interception. We ran one play and got into position. Joe (Barrow) takes a knee. Please run there. As always, I think the surgery was perfect for Clark and (Holder) Kevin (Huber).

GH: Things seem to be going well with rookie holder Brad Robins.

EM: Our current operations are very clean. I think Cal did a great job with the laces and placement. And Brad did a really good job of putting the ball down. And I’m really confident in these two guys.

GH: Can I take you to equipment manager Adma Nollman’s office to see a framed, autographed photo of you kicking an AFC Championship game-winner? How would you feel if a man asked you to sign something like that?

EM: You can come in here and take a look. That’s amazing. That’s a good moment.

GH: I saw what Adam had made with it and bought something that looked like a painting. And you were kind enough to sign it. How many photos do you see with signs like that around town? How often does someone say, “Please sign this photo”?

EM: I’m sure I signed all 1,000 copies.

GH: What do you think every time you sign?

EM: I have only good memories. It’s a good time. Let’s go back.
