In it, Sunny and Veer go to tell their father about the engagement and Veer’s refusal to reform.
His father explains: “If a man is a Muslim, a woman must obey a man… If anyone knew that Sunny had a wife and didn’t convert, Sunny’s wife is a Christian. People would say, ‘Shame on Sunny. “Know that,” he would say. It’s wrong and a disgrace to the family. ”
Sonny’s father gives him an impossible ultimatum. Sunny must choose between her new fiancé and her father.
Vere asks, “Does he have to choose between me or you?” and his father replies, “Of course.”
Sunny told her father, “Daddy, she will be with me forever.”
His father asks, “Do you know what you’re doing?” He added: “From now on, don’t rely on me for anything.”
Veer cries.
Sonny explains in a confessional that he had to rebuild his relationship with his father and doesn’t want to lose what they have.
