Spirit of Gallo has announced the addition of a new category, shochu, to its spirits portfolio. As a result of the partnership with Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd., Galo will expand sales of Sunhari, Chumchurum, and Sae-ero in the United States starting January 2024.

Native to South Korea, soju is popular around the world and is becoming increasingly popular in the United States as multicultural consumers and Gen Z consumers age 21 and older seek unique and diverse alcoholic beverage options. Until now, Lotte’s popular soju brand had limited sales in the U.S. and was mainly sold at specialty stores in Asia. Gallo’s partnership will expand distribution across all other channels to capture growing opportunities.

Sunhari is an original flavored soju and means “smooth” in Korean. “Sunhari” has a fruit flavor with a hint of sweetness, and as the name suggests, it has a refreshing and smooth taste. Flavors include Grape, Apple, Citron, Peach, Strawberry, Yogurt, and Apple Mango and are 12% ABV. Available in a 375ml glass bottle.
