4. Take a photo before you leave
While you should always carry your ID with you when traveling, it’s also wise to have a digital backup. Worst case scenario, you lose your wallet. Having photos of important documents will make your trip home smoother.
The easiest way to do this on your iPhone is with the handy document scanner built into the native Notes app.

5. No more paper boarding passes
If you haven’t done this yet, you will thank me. Stop fumbling with printed board paths and access the digital version.
You can log in to the airline’s website to have your boarding pass emailed to you, or you can download the airline’s app to access it. From there, you can add it to your phone’s digital wallet.
- If you get your boarding pass by email, Apple Mail can automatically add it to Wallet. Otherwise, open the email attachment and Add to Apple Wallet > addition.
- On Android, use the Google Wallet app. Please follow the instructions here.
