according to Reader’s Digest, discount store branded items were usually overstocked in their original locations or categorized as last season’s items. But in recent years, more discount retailers have become more willing to invest in in-store brands as prejudice against generic brands has waned, especially among Gen Z and Millennials. Business Insider reported. According to CBS News, small businesses appeared to be the hardest hit last year, with many stores overstocked by 30% due to product surpluses. This year, major companies such as the Kraft Heinz Company, Dunkin’ Coffee and the Hershey Company are in talks to collaborate with Dollar Tree and Dollar General on seasonal products. According to Yahoo Finance.
