NCF funds could replace state funding
New College’s only hope is to create a sufficient endowment to be able to wean itself off state funding.
Warren Buffett said at his company’s recent annual shareholder meeting that early investors in Berkshire Hathaway donated $1 billion to Albert Einstein College of Medicine to help students avoid paying tuition.
If your alumni are unable to raise enough money through donations, you may need to hire a professional fundraiser. Bill Gates Foundation, Melinda Gates, widow of Steve Jobs and ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, Warren BuffettAny one of these could create a fund large enough that it wouldn’t require state funding and the cost would be pennies on the dollar.
That way the university can say goodbye to President Richard Corcoran, Christopher Rufo and the other jerkboys on the board appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, and let’s name some buildings after the people who created the endowment.

Ethical laws limit our freedom
So let’s be clear.
As spelled out in a new law signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the state does not have to investigate allegations of fraud, corruption or misconduct if the media conducts a thorough investigation into alleged misconduct by a public official.
Who is he trying to protect who holds political office? Under this outrageous new law, nearly everyone will be protected.
The Governor feels he has the right to restrict the freedoms Floridians have always enjoyed. This new law makes it nearly impossible for the public, or even the media, to question the actions of public officials.
Think of all the scandals that have come to light through hearsay or reporting and then been investigated.
The new law takes away people’s freedoms. Why?

The letter about Trump is completely wrong.
It seeks a response to a critical June 26 letter about former President Donald Trump (“Trump’s convictions are contrary to the rule of law”).
The letter condemned Trump’s “encouragement of violence.” Trump’s tweets As revealed by Elon Musk, he called on thousands of people to show up on January 6, 2021, to respect law enforcement, avoid violence, and allow their voices to be heard in a peaceful and patriotic manner.
The letter accuses Trump of anti-Semitism. The Abraham Accords It is also worth noting that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared, is Jewish and his daughter, Ivanka, converted to Judaism.
The letter accuses Trump supporters of being naive, working class and ignorant about NATO. Many presidents have politely asked all NATO member states to contribute the amount they have pledged for defense, but some have not responded. Trump is simply letting them know that if they do not deliver on their defense promises, they should not expect the US to be there when they are besieged.
Finally, Trump recognizes Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un as wise and strong leaders, and ignoring the assets of their opponents is foolish and unacceptable.

Biden has the energy and ability to run for a second term.
I moved into an independent senior living facility (assisted living home) two and a half years ago. The average age of the residents is about 88 years old.
Most of our residents still maintain a high level of intelligence, and the level of activity that stimulates the mind and body certainly helps.
In my opinion, an 81-year-old man is certainly capable of being president. President Joe Biden has demonstrated through his experience and record of accomplishments that he has the capacity and energy to serve another term.
